If your blood pressure monitor is not working, there can be several reasons for this. As a first step you can check the following:
Are the batteries maybe exhausted or old, so that you would need to replace them with new ones?
Perhaps the cuff is not the right size? The cuff should not be too large or too small, as this could affect the measurement result. In order to get a really precise blood pressure reading, determine your exact upper arm circumference and choose the cuff that fits.
Another cause of malfunctioning of your blood pressure monitor can be a defective tube or a leaking cuff. If you notice air leaking somewhere or if you see cracks in the material, you should replace the hose or cuff.
If the device still does not work despite having been checked and corrected, you can send it in to check or verify the readings.
