    • An accurate blood pressure measurement taken on the upper arm depends on use of the right cuff. This cuff is suitable for upper arm circumferences of 22-32 cm. It can be used with the upper arm blood pressure monitors Omron HBP-1100/1300.

      The cuff must fit properly in order for your physician to obtain an accurate reading. Thankfully, most doctor's offices keep different upper arm cuffs in stock in their office. If you're using your Omron blood pressure monitor at home, on the other hand, you'll need to upgrade to a medium arm band.

      The right size ensures correct measurements.
      Make sure to always use a cuff that is the right size for the respective upper arm circumference. The cuff should not be used on top of thick clothing. Also, if the sleeve of the worn clothing is too tight, it should not be rolled up either, for this constricts the blood flow and affects the measurement. Please also ensure that the cuff is at the same height as the heart when taking a measurement.

      The medium armband for the Omron blood pressure device is designed to accommodate arm circumferences of anywhere from 22 to 32 centimeters. Having the proper sized arm band will ensure you are able to take an accurate blood pressure reading, whereas using a band that is too big might give you strange readings and cause additional scares.
